The daughter of former Olympian Bruce (now Caitlyn) Jenner and Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner has been exposed to fame since a very young age, starting when she was only 10 years old. That’s when Jenner was first featured on the hit reality series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, earning the family a ton of fame…and money to go along with it. Jenner has since branched out to be one of the most talked about celebrities, and has her own reality series now called “Life of Kylie”. Between social media, fashion design and television, Jenner has become a millionaire at a very young age.
When most of us are 20 years old, we’re happy to be driving around in any car, really. For Jenner, though, she’s certainly living a life of luxury that has included a lot of high end vehicles. Jenner already owned a Rolls Royce Ghost and Ferrari 458 Spider (and even more vehicles) before the spring of 2017, but really made headlines when she finally sealed the deal on her new Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster.
The Aventador SV that Jenner drives around is bright orange with black trim, and she’s had her eye on the vehicle since late 2016. Jenner purchased the vehicle from a Southern California car dealership, who had the car listed at $400,000. The Aventador has been in production since early 2011, and it’s estimated that Lamborghini has made more than 5,000 of them for sale. Jenner’s version was unveiled in 2015, and was a bit lighter than the original Aventador SV.
It wasn’t until early 2016 that the SV Roadster made its way to dealerships around the world, and there weren’t too many that were made. The design is very similar, with the Roadster edition having some flashier features and aesthetics. They both feature a V12 engine, and the Roadster features a finer interior that was made from authentic Italian leather and an exterior designed with carbon fiber reinforced polymer, making it a bit lighter.
The seats within the Aventador SV Roadster look like they’re straight out of a race car, which is a common sight with Lamborghinis. The Roadster also handles like a race car, starting with the engine that has an output of 750 horsepower. The suspension system is also top of the line, acting incredibly responsive to keep performance at its peak even while nearing the top speed. The steering also adapts to higher speeds to make it more stable and enhanced maneuvering when going a bit slower.
So just how fast can Jenner cruise down the highway when she’s in her Aventador SV Roadster? Thanks to the high horsepower, this luxury vehicle is able to reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in just 2.9 seconds. After that, the SV Roadster reaches a top speed of 217 miles per hour. While there aren’t many places to go that fast outside of the Autobahn or a race track, that’s some impressive power.
The price that Jenner paid for her SV Roadster is actually lower than what it debuted at, since the 500 that were originally produced cost over $500,000 each. Other Aventador SV Roadsters for sale right now are listed at that same price, with some even reaching upwards of almost $700,000. Not that Jenner needed a great deal, but she certainly got one when she got her newest toy to drive around.
Jenner made a big entrance when she purchased her vehicle, stepping out in front of cameras after opening the scissor doors to her orange Lamborghini. If most of us were to have that type of car, there’s little doubt that we’d be taking it out on the road as much as possible. That actually hasn’t been the case for Jenner, though.
In August 2017, just a few months after owning the vehicle, Jenner said that she feels bad about not driving her Lamborghini more often. On her newest reality series, “Life of Kylie”, she said that “We never take the Lambo. I feel so bad for it. It’s like ‘Why is she always taking the other cars?’ And every day I try to force myself to take it. I just never drive it.” For the most part, it’s been a collector’s item for Jenner.
Of course, the talk about feeling bad for her Lamborghini had many people on social media not feeling bad for her lifestyle. Many fans even jokes, willing to take the Lamborghini off of her hands if she wasn’t going to drive it. Of course, it’s all in good fun, though having to pick a Rolls Royce or Bentley over a Lamborghini on a daily basis is a problem that we’d all like to have.
It’s estimated that if Jenner were to sell her Aventador SV Roadster that doesn’t get a lot of use, she could make the price up even higher than what other people are paying for the same model. Owning a vehicle that’s been featured on a popular television series that’s owned by one of the biggest celebrities in the world tends to increase the value, especially since she hasn’t put too many miles on it. However, a lot of people prefer a manual transmission for a car of this performance, but Jenner’s features a seven-speed semi-automatic transmission.
Jenner could sell her SV Roadster for a bit of a profit, but if she holds onto it for too long, she risks losing a lot in insurance. Lamborghinis carry a high insurance cost, with estimates saying that it costs up to $20,000 each year for insurance. When doing insurance cost surveys, companies won’t even list vehicles made by Lamborghini because it would drive up the average cost so much. As a matter of fact, most insurance companies won’t even provide a quote for a Lamborghini, even though other luxury car makers such as Rolls Royce can be covered.
We’ll see if Jenner decides to drive her Lamborghini around a bit more in the future or if it’s heading back to the market. We can say for sure that people will be chomping at the big to be the next one to drive the orange and black supercar. We can also be pretty sure that it will be another millionaire celebrity that’s driving it around next.
