Eric Clapton is a musician who almost needs no introduction. As a three-time inductee to the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Clapton has certified himself as a musical legend. With more than 100 million record sales around the world, Clapton’s talent is as undeniable as it is prolific.

Retro Ferrari 458

When you have a net worth north of $300 million, it suddenly makes sense to start splurging on the little things. For Eric Clapton, splurging on the ‘little things’ means adding another car to his already impressive fleet of vehicles. While we will explore Clapton’s many incredible automobiles, we want to take time to highlight one special vehicle. We are, of course, talking about the custom retro Ferrari SP12 that he added to his collection in 2015.

The Ferrari 458 is one of Clapton’s most prized vehicles for a reason. With a price tag near $4.7 million, you aren’t likely to find many other cars in this price range. What’s more, Clapton made sure to get his money’s worth when it came to customizing the entire vehicle. Clapton may be considered a musical genius, but he is also quite a knowledgeable car fiend.

The Ferrari SP-12 was built off of the guts of a 458 Italia with the body influence of a modern 512 Berlinetta Boxer. The gorgeous SP-12 looks like it can tear the asphalt off of the road merely by driving fast, that’s how speedy this vehicle can get. Inside of the SP-12, Clapton has the original 458 V8 engine that came stock from Ferrari. While Clapton might want to upgrade to a V12 in the future, we’re sure that he’s still going to be alright. The custom car’s V8 engine can generate  562 horsepower while firing off 398 lbs of torque. With a top speed of 202 MPH, you’ll want to make sure you know exactly what you are doing when you jump behind the wheel!

The Ferrari 458 SP-12 may be custom-made, but plenty of original components can still be found within Clapton’s vehicle. The transmission features a dual-clutch Getrag gearbox. The Getrag gearbox is also commonly found in the Mercedes-Benz SLS  AMG. While the car doesn’t have a manual transmission, it still handles like a dream thanks to the F1-Traction control system. The Ferrari 458 SP-12 can go 0 – 60 in just 3.4 seconds.

While the Ferrari 458 SP-12 is a beautiful car, do you think it is worth the $4.7 million price tag? You know what? That question almost doesn’t matter. If we had the chance to get behind the wheel of any Clapton vehicle, we’d take it!

Rock ‘n’ Roll Automobiles

If you don’t want to risk scratching Slowhand’s $4.7 million car, he has other vehicles that you can be floored by. As a classic rock guitarist who rose to fame in the era of muscle cars, Clapton was sure to add many of his favorite cars from the era to his collection. While Clapton has more cars than we could fit in a parking lot, we’ll still showcase a few of his other favorite vehicles.

Let’s start by finding our way to the 1968 Ferrari Daytona that Clapton has owned for years. Originally rising to fame due to its placement on an album cover in the ’70s, the Ferrari Daytona has since become a cult classic vehicle. Clapton’s Daytona showcases a Colombo V12 engine inside of a cherry-red body. According to the numbers, only 1,500 of these vehicles were ever manufactured. Not only is this a classy car, but it is a sound investment for Clapton to make.

In order to change things up, let’s move away from Clapton’s love of classic Ferrari vehicles. Instead, we’ll take a look at the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. The ‘Tears in Heaven’ star added the Porsche Cayenne Turbo to his collection in the past several years. The Cayenne Turbo has been in production since 2002 and it claims the title of first Porsche vehicle to contain a V8 engine since 1995.  Other notable facts about this gorgeous car are that it is Porsche’s first off-road variant since their work with the Junior and Super tractors back int he 50s. Inside of the Cayenne, you’ll find a 4.5-liter, turbocharged V8 engine. The car can go from 0 to 62 MPH in just about five seconds.

Finally, let’s close out our tour of Clapton’s digital garage by looking at one of his oldest vehicles, the 1932 Ford Victoria Hot Rod. The Ford Victoria Hot Rod is one of the rarest cars in Clapton’s collection, for good reason.  This beautiful classic car has been completely detailed and updated in order to be road-ready for 2019. The car has a Rousch V8 engine that has been carefully restored. Originally sold for just $495 back in the 30s, you might need to add a couple of zeroes before you can take one of these Ford Victoria cars home today.
